Fluoroscopy

Fluoroscopy | AICA Kennesaw

Most interventional spine procedures such as epidurals involve an injection, which needs to be placed in a specific area to ensure results. Our experts know the body well, but put safety as our top priority. This is why we use fluoroscopy during needle placement on the spine, one of the most delicate areas of the body.

Fluoroscopy is a type of medical imaging that shows a continuous X-ray image on a monitor, giving a real time view of the body. This allows our doctors to properly place the needle and eliminate potential risk. This fluoroscopy procedure can also be used in orthopedic applications to verify the bones are in the correct position during in-office procedures.

But while some doctors stop there, we at AICA Ortho and Spine know that your health is about more than one piece of your body. That’s why our doctors have looked at all of the uses of this machine and have found a way to diagnose injuries faster by performing motion studies or observing and evaluating the joint in motion.

Our doctors can view a single or series of joints through a full range of motion to see if there is proper movement or lack there of. They will also try to find any “sticking points” or lack of fluidity that may be an indication of recent injury.

This on-site procedure is one of the many diagnosis options and tools our clinics feature to ensure your care is complete. Your health is our top priority and our clinics are available to speak 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call today to schedule your appointment at 678-433-1515!
